Picking Up Chicks At Sainsburys

about

Part one of the "Picking Up Chicks" saga. Our hero begins his quest for love in the least likely of places; a supermarket.

Based on a time I sat waiting for a friend in Sainsburys, watching a girl at the self-checkout buy some stuff.

True story: first time I played this, two guys were apparently discussing it afterwards, thinking I was being serious. Really? Seriously?

(Weirdly, this is the only song written pre-breakup.)

lyrics

I like to get a seat by the self-checkout
So I don’t get harrassed by the checkout staff

And I like to make sure that they’re buying alcohol
Because I’m not a very good judge of age

And I like to play a game where I make assumptions about who they are
Based purely on what they’re buying

So if they’re buying porridge then they’re probably bland
And if they’re buying a new TV then they’ve got a couple of grand
And if they’re buying Malibu then that’s just great
And if they’re buying Far Cry 3 I’d like to take them out on a date
